Getting sent to Greenland for work

My boss just dropped this on me yesterday, I'm going to Greenland for work. Never been to anything remotely like that place, honestly don't know what to expect. How do people even move around there, is it actual cars or are we talking sleds and boats only? Can you rent something normal or is transport just not a thing?

Greenland isn't what most people picture, the coastal towns have proper roads and normal cars driving around. Dog sleds are more of a tourist thing or for remote areas during winter. Summer months especially, you'll see regular traffic in places like Nuuk or Ilulissat, just smaller roads and fewer of them than you're used to.

The thing about Greenland is that towns aren't connected by roads, each settlement is basically its own island accessible by boat or plane. But within each town you'll definitely want wheels because distances are deceptive and walking in that cold wears you down fast. You can rent a car in Greenland here https://getrentacar.com/en-US/greenland . Available vehicles depend on which town you're staying in, most listings are for 4x4s since roads can get rough. Book early though, there aren't hundreds of cars sitting around like in other countries, inventory is limited.
